Health Impact Assessment

WELCOME TO EHP'S SHALE GAS HEALTH IMPACT ASSESSMENT (HIA)

Our HIA is designed to give residents, local decision-makers and state public officials a checklist of questions that ought to be answered before a site or potential site can be deemed safe.

It’s a structured way to bring together data on:
  • your community,
  • expected emissions from shale gas development, and
  • potential health risks posed to adults and children in the immediate area.

The HIA can be used to support testimony at hearings, to educate residents and public officials, and to provide concrete data in meetings with companies of state and local agencies.
